Agenda of the Workshop on gMeta-Guidelinesh for Climate Change Adaptation

Objectives

To advise and support leaders and policy-makers in the Asia Pacific region on policies and good practices for mitigation and adaptation of the impacts of climate change on water resources management and water services, the Asia-Pacific Water Forumfs (APWF) Steering Group (SG) on Water and Climate Change has produced the Framework Document on Water and Climate Change Adaptation. As the follow-up action, SG launched discussions on guidelines for practitioners in using climate change projection methodologies, tools for vulnerability and impact assessment and project screening; and for adaptation strategies and activities. Based on preliminary reviews, the SG has concluded that the proposed Guidelines should take to form of a synthesis (gmeta-guidelinesh) and critical interpretation of this body of work. This workshop is planned for synthesizing key issues and summarizing key directions through discussing the following four key questions:

  • gHow to bridge the gap of usable knowledge?h
  • gHow to synergize the adaptation and IWRM?h
  • gHow to develop capacity and resilience?h
  • gHow to plan and decide on investments?h
  • gHow to make best use of climate finance?h
